Vision by Elysium Health is a breakthrough in eye care for longevity, protection, and performance. Developed with the guidance of Theodore Leng, M.D., leading retinal specialist, ophthalmologist, and Director of Clinical and Translational Research at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University School of Medicine, Vision is specifically formulated to support visual performance and eye health at every stage of life. Vision leverages the latest research on xanthophyll carotenoids—plant pigments that accumulate in the eye and provide powerful antioxidant defense and photoprotection—with Elysium Health’s Protective Intervention for Xanthin-based Eye Longevity (PIXEL) Complex™. Vision’s novel formulation:

  • Enhances visual performance by increasing contrast sensitivity
  • Filters high-energy blue light and protects the eyes from oxidative stress
  • Targets the age-related loss in macular pigment density to support long-term eye and vision health

Introducing the PIXEL Complex

Our eyes are exquisitely vulnerable to oxidative stress, from constant exposure to high-energy blue light, environmental pollution, aging, genetic factors, and intrinsic metabolic activities, which impact eye health and visual performance.

Xanthophyll carotenoids are plant pigments that play a critical role in photo and antioxidant protection and three of these—lutein, meso-zeaxanthin, and zeaxanthin—are found selectively in the eye, in a specialized structure called the macula. As we age, levels of these protective macular pigments decline, contributing to deterioration in eye health and visual performance.

The PIXEL Complex in Vision provides all three xanthophylls to increase macular pigment density and provide protection against blue light, oxidative stress, and support visual function.

Clinically proven to increase macular pigment density

The PIXEL Complex in Vision provides all three macular pigments, meso-zeaxanthin, zeaxanthin, and lutein, in a specific formulation (M+Z+L) that’s clinically proven to rapidly and significantly increase pigment density in the macula

In contrast, AREDS 2, a well-established formula extensively studied by the National Eye Institute for long-term macular support, contains just two of the three macular carotenoids (Z+L). Supplementation with Z+L in AREDS 2 results in a delayed, modest increase in macular pigment density.

See the science

"There is no better formulation than Vision for eye health—leveraging 20 years of data behind the AREDS studies and the latest breakthroughs in xanthophyll research."

Vision support for daily tasks and performance-oriented activities

The ingredients in the PIXEL Complex are clinically proven to improve contrast sensitivity—a significant predictor of visual performance in the real world—and vision in glare and low-light conditions, critical for:

Clinically proven benefits for every stage of life

Developed with the guidance of Theodore Leng, M.D., leading retinal specialist, ophthalmologist, and Director of Clinical and Translational Research at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University School of Medicine, Vision is specifically formulated to support visual performance and eye health at every stage of life.

Macular pigments lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin in the PIXEL Complex are clinically proven to support visual performance and long-term macular health. Astaxanthin, a fourth xanthophyll carotenoid in the PIXEL Complex, provides powerful antioxidant defense and is clinically proven to support eyes during extended screen use and increase blood flow to the retina for daily eye support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are sirtuins important for aging?

Sirtuins are a family of proteins that regulate cellular health. They play a key role in cellular homeostasis, which keeps cells in balance. However, sirtuins can only function in the presence of NAD+, a coenzyme found in all living cells.

What is Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) and why is it important?

NAD+ is a critical coenzyme found in every cell. It is involved in hundreds of metabolic processes. NAD+ levels decline with age. It helps convert nutrients into cellular energy and supports proteins that regulate cellular functions. These processes are essential for health.

What is Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) and why is it important?

NR is a form of Vitamin B and a precursor to NAD+. It serves as raw material for the body to produce NAD+. Human clinical studies show NR supplementation can increase NAD+ levels.

What is Pterostilbene and why is it important?

Pterostilbene is a polyphenol found in plants, especially small berries and nuts. Blueberries are a rich source. Unlike resveratrol, pterostilbene does not survive the wine-making process.

What’s a polyphenol?

A polyphenol refers to molecules with multiple phenol structures. Their main role in plants is to fight pathogens. When consumed by humans, polyphenols may act as powerful antioxidants.

Is there anything I should notice once I start taking Basis?

Basis works beneath the surface. Its purpose is to improve long-term cellular health. You may not feel immediate changes. Results vary by individual physiology.

What are the results of your clinical trial?

A first-in-human study showed Basis increased cellular NAD+ levels by an average of 40% within one month. This level was maintained during the trial. Additional biomarkers confirmed ingredient safety.

How do subscriptions work?

Prepaid annual subscriptions offer savings and are final sale. If canceled mid-plan, remaining shipments will still be delivered. Monthly subscriptions cost $50/month and can be canceled anytime before the next shipment. One-time purchases are also available. Customer support is provided via email.

Where do you ship?

Some products ship only within the U.S. Others are available in the U.S. and Canada. Customers can sign up for a newsletter to receive international availability updates.

When will I receive my product?

Standard shipping delivers in 5–7 business days after shipping. Expedited shipping (extra fee) delivers in 2–3 business days. Order processing takes 1–2 business days.
